The Research and Development department is comprised of a small group of dedicated professionals with varied backgrounds, responsible for the development and maintenance of Blue Sky's proprietary software. Our efforts help keep the studio on the cutting edge of computer animated film making. We are infused with the desire to explore, passionate about what we do, and committed to excellence.

Whether it is software for animation dealing with procedural motion, algorithms for rendering that scatter light, tools for lighting and modeling that enhance interactivity, job control packages which automate the rendering process or production management software that gives producers and artists up to the minute shot information, this philosophy of quality pervades our efforts.

Our constant objective is to provide our Blue Sky colleagues with tools that permit them to execute the vision in their mind's eye with a minimum of frustration and compromise. This support extends throughout the entire production process of a film. It is our close, symbiotic relationship with production that constantly shapes and refines what we do.
